One of Casper's most popular attractions

No visit to Casper is complete without exploring Fort Casper Museum. Tour a reconstructed 1865 military post located at a major river crossing on the Oregon, Mormon Pioneer, California, Pony Express, and transcontinental telegraph trail corridor. This historic museum is affordable and family friendly.

Explore central Wyoming’s regional history museum, featuring exhibits on prehistoric peoples, Plains Indians, ranching, the energy industry, and the City of Casper as well as the western emigrant trails and frontier army.

Since the fort was reconstructed in 1936, Fort Caspar Museum has acquired, preserved, and exhibited historical objects related to Fort Caspar, the City of Casper, Natrona County, and central Wyoming. The Museum relies on the donation of objects, photographs, and archival materials to help preserve and share Casper stories with visitors.

Fort Casper has regular events planned so make sure to check out their calendar of events to see if something special is happening during your visit.
